About the Name
In Chinese, multiple characters can be used to represent the sound "dong" and the sound "ting." One character for "dong" is 东, which means "east". "Ting" can be represented by 听, meaning "listen." Thus "listen to the East." Another character for "dong" is 懂, meaning "understand" - "listen and understand." Oh, and Rex's older daughter was born near DongTing Lake by the Yangtzee River.
